Here at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust we offer a full 1 year preceptorship programme to support you as you transition from being a student to a qualified staff nurse. You will be assigned a preceptor nurse from your department who will be available for you as you start in your new role and who you will formally meet with every quarter. You also will receive 1-2 days per month ‘off-the-ward’ training on foundational professional subjects such as drug administration and end of life care, as well as lots of simulation training sessions, peer support and leadership development.
The development of our staff is central to the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care and to support you, you will be offered opportunities for ongoing development to help realise professional and personal ambitions.
For newly qualified nurses we also offer rotational posts. If you are interested in this route please highlight this at the time you apply, along with your specific choice of speciality you wish to be considered for.
