The Lister Hospital and its outpatient centres are located in the heart of Chelsea, and have consistently provided care and treatment in London for over 30 years. We offer access to leading consultants from London's top teaching hospitals and contemporary treatment, with several highly specialised units including fertility, gastroenterology and cardiology.

With 57 beds across three floors, we offer a specialised service, bespoke to our patient’s needs. Our six-bed critical care unit provides dedicated specialised care to seriously ill patients with a range of surgical or medical conditions. 

The Lister Fertility Clinic, based at the main hospital site, is widely recognised as one of the leading fertility centres in the UK. Since opening in 1988, it has consistently maintained its reputation as being one of the most successful IVF clinics in the country.

Job Description

The post holder will support the IVF Nurse Manager in the smooth running of the clinic and its Satellite Centres and supervise junior nursing staff. You must be able to clearly demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills at an advanced level. The practitioner will practice autonomously and also within a defined multidisciplinary team in accordance with local guidelines and protocols. To provide history taking, clinical assessment, treatment and evaluation of care, the post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the decision making process with support from the Consultants as required. They will deliver a professional approach to the provision of high quality nursing care, acting as a role model to junior staff. There will be an expectation that the post holder works in the central Lister Fertility Clinic, Chelsea when required.

The post holder will support the Clinical Nurse Manager (IVF)/ in the smooth running of the IVF Satellite clinic and supervise junior nursing staff.  Assist couples undergoing fertility treatments and be responsible for implementing and monitoring patient treatment cycles. Maintain effective communication channels between patients, staff and satellite services. Maintain the highest standard of clinical practice and patient care

This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week, we are offering an attractive and competitive salary for this role.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all operative procedures are booked with Reservations department and ensuring anaesthetic cover is available.
  • To report to the IVF Senior Sister on clinical activities, incidents and complaints and commence investigative procedures as appropriate.
  • Represent the IVF nurse manager in her absence as required.
  • To responds to patient complaints appropriately in the absence of the Unit Manager/ IVF Nurse Manager.
  • To liaise with Lister fertility Clinic, Chelsea staff and provide information and support to their patients as the senior nurse based for satellite unit.
  • To carry out clinical duties in a professional and compassionate manner in accordance with HCA International and HFEA guidelines.
  • To liaise with wards and staff within the Lister Hospital to co-ordinate treatment and increase awareness of patients’ needs.

Skills & Experience

A registered Nurse with significant experience within an IVF setting, you will also have experience of egg donation. As a senior member of the team it is also important you have completed ENB998 or be willing to work towards.
