Band 6 Ward Sister – Corby Community hospital

This is an exciting time for Northamptonshire Community Hospitals as we continue to build upon our CQC rating of Outstanding. Our Community hospitals provide step up and step down facilities to avoid acute hospital admissions and facilitate early discharge.

You will be joining a Trust that has achieved the Health Service Journal ‘Trust of the Year` 2018 award, evidencing commitment to making a difference for patients and staff.

We have 4 wards based across the county:

Isebrook Hospital at Wellingborough:

Hazelwood ward - responding to patients with long-term conditions, rehabilitation needs, including dedicated stroke rehabilitation care.

Beechwood Unit - providing inpatient medical rehabilitation for primarily younger adults with neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, spinal disease, strokes, acute brain injury resulting primarily in physical disability.

Danetre Hospital in Daventry:

Responding to patients with long term conditions, acute hospital avoidance and dedicated palliative care beds.

Corby Community Hospital:

Responding to patients requiring ongoing rehabilitation needs following acute episodes of care and long term condition management.

If you are a newly qualified General Nurse looking for the right experience to consolidate your learning or an experienced nurse who would like to further develop their skills and management abilities in a more nurse led unit then we would like to hear from you.

The opportunity is also provided to facilitate rotation to our Trusts community based District Nurse and Intermediate Care Teams and our Hospices to advance learning and skill development opportunities.

Applications from experienced RMNs will also be welcomed as we strive to optimise the rehabilitation environment for our patients who have physical care needs but also underlying mental health needs such as dementia or high psychological care needs post brain injury trauma.

Multi-disciplinary working is key on all of the wards and individuals are required to be highly motivated, forward thinking with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good literacy and IT skills are essential as the units maintain electronic patient records.

Please apply on-line or come and see us on the day!

Interviews available on the day.
