Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse or Paramedic Practitioner to join our team at Southampton Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) based at the Royal South Hants Hospital. At the MIU, we provide fast, convenient and expert care to any NHS patient with a minor injury. Our team of skilled Nurse and Paramedic Practitioners can offer treatment, advice and information for a range of minor injuries and illnesses and our waiting times can be considerably shorter than at emergency departments. The centre is open 365 days a year, operating from 07.30 to 22.00 Monday to Friday and from 08.00 to 22.00 on weekends and bank holidays. In this role, you will be expected to assess patients, plan their care, administer treatment and discharge them or refer them as appropriate to other healthcare professionals or external agencies. You will have proven post registration experience in accident & emergency, a primary care environment, minor injuries/illness or acute specialities. To be successful in this role, you will: • Be an NMC registered Nurse or an HCPC registered Paramedic • Have a Level 6 qualification in minor injuries/illness • Be an Independent Nurse Prescriber (desirable) In return, we can offer you: • Competitive salary • 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays • Company pension scheme • Care UK Perks including cycle to work scheme and retail discounts Shortlisting for this role may take place as applications are received.
