We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Registered Nurse to join our motivated, trusted and professional Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency Unit Team at Noble’s Hospital on the Isle of Man.

Our unit is a six bedded combined intensive care and high dependency unit, providing critical care services for the people on the Isle of Man. We care for patients from a variety of disciplines including medical, surgical, and trauma.

We are separate NHS Service to that of the UK- the Island’s healthcare is provided by a National Health Service based on that in the United Kingdom but is independently financed and administered within the Isle of Man. Many of the changes brought about to the UK National Health Service, as a consequence of the extensive reorganisations of recent years have not been adopted in the Isle of Man.

Our ward sees both ITU and HDU patients and within our small and knowledgeable team, this role will provide you with a brilliant opportunity to enhance your knowledge, skills and experience. We are part of the Cheshire and Mersey Critical Care network and we are benchmarked with other units in the region.

In our ward, we offer 6 weeks Supernumerary to ensure you feel settled in and feel comfortable in your new role!

We know changing jobs can be daunting at times so we have a social buddy scheme at Noble’s whereby if you are successful, you will be paired up with a fellow nurse buddy who can show you the ropes and help you settle in here at Noble’s.

Relocation

Interview expenses and a relocation package of up to £7,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Subsidised accommodation and assistance with housing costs may also be available.

Newly opened in 2003 Noble’s Hospital is the islands’ only District General Hospital. It is equipped to the very latest standards with a total complement of 317 beds. We provide a comprehensive range of services typical of most District General Hospitals including acute medicine, general & orthopaedic surgery, maternity, paediatrics, SCBU, ITU & CCU. There is also a stroke unit and thrombolysis is performed on a 24/7 basis in ED.

We have a combined education & training centre on site with a medical library, seminar rooms, lecture theatre and state of the art simulation suite.

Our Island’s healthcare is provided by a National Health Service based on that in the UK but is independently financed and administered within the Isle of Man. Many of the changes brought about to the UK NHS, as a consequence of the reorganisations of recent years have not been adopted here. Although we are spate from the UK NHS, nursing on the island is regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
