Theatre Practitioner Opportunities

BMI The Alexandra Hospital

Mill Lane, Cheadle, Cheshire

BMI The Alexandra Hospital is the largest private healthcare facility outside of London and the flagship hospital of the BMI Healthcare group providing private healthcare, medical, surgical and diagnostic services for over 20,000 patients each year.

As part of a wider hospital refurbishment programme, the theatre department at The Alex will benefit from future investment and development opportunities and we are therefore looking for exceptional Theatre Practitioners to join our theatre team to support this future growth. The hospital has 7 very busy theatres and a cardiac cath lab performing a wide range of routine and complex surgical procedures. Specialties include orthopaedics, plastics, ENT, cardiology and cardiac surgery, bariatrics, neurosurgery and general surgery. The hospital recently appointed a new Executive Director and there are exciting times ahead as the hospital continues to move forward under new management

We currently have Senior and Theatre Practitioner vacancies to fill in this friendly, diverse and patient-focused team with a number of posts resulting from staff progression within the hospital.

Ideally all roles will be covered on a full-time basis covering 37.5 hours a week – but we can also consider part-time applications and will be flexible wherever possible. (Please note however that the role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern with an on-call responsibility.) We are particularly keen to hear from people with experience in Orthopaedic Scrub, Cardiac, ENT and Anaesthetics.

We actively encourage potential applicants to come to site for an informal visit first – and feel this is the best way to truly get a feeling of what makes this unit and team so unique.

As well as having a strong reputation in the Manchester/Cheshire area, BMI The Alex is part of BMI Healthcare, Britain's largest provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

Upon joining you will receive a competitive benefits package including private healthcare, staff pension and 25 days annual holiday + bank holidays.  In addition you will also have access to some of the best training and development programmes in the healthcare sector courtesy of our dedicated in-house Learning and Development team.
