Are you a Mental Health Nurse looking for career progression? Do you have a passion for advising and supporting patients with mental health needs? If so, then we have the role for you.

What you’ll be doing

As a Regional Mental Health Lead Nurse, you will help to take forward the mental health provision within the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) by liaising with external stakeholders, including other Mental Health Trusts and CCG’s across the Suffolk, North East Essex and West midlands region. You will also spend time working within the Clinical Hub and will support and advise the Mental Health Nurse Advisors, as well as work closely with the Clinical Navigator to manage the clinical queues. You will also be responsible for clinical governance and carrying our clinical audits and investigations. There is also the need to deliver training across the West Midlands 111 and promote well-being initiatives across the contact centre.

What we will need from you

As a Regional Mental Health Lead Nurse,You will have experience of working within urgent care services (A&E, Crisis, Street Triage, SPoA), and ideally have experience of leading a team of Nurses. Finally, a sound understanding of both adult and child safeguarding issues is essential to this role. You will have a detailed knowledge of current developments within UK clinical practice, understand how to measure and report on clinical performance and be aware of what “good clinical practice” looks like. An understanding of Clinical Governance and how to implement it to improve quality is key. The successful applicant will be dynamic and show initiative and ensure the mental health needs of our patients are safely and effectively met, whilst finding ways to improve and develop the service. You will have the opportunity to innovate and influence how we provide care for mental health patients across the West Midlands. Additional Information

Hours - Full time - approx. 37.50hrs per week Salary -up to £40,000 per annum dependent on experience You will be required to travel to other sites within this role, therefore a car and clean driving licence is essential. Essential: • RMN qualification with active NMC PIN number • Excellent understanding of the needs of patients with mental health difficulties • Previous experience in a similar role – with evidence of clinical and management supervision Desirable: • Certificate or Diploma in Management • Hold an MSc
