Location: St Helena, South Atlantic Tropical Island.
Salary: Up to £35,000 to £40,000 per annum + a tax free International Supplement
Description: This hospital is based on a sub-tropical island of spectacular and beautiful landscapes in the South Atlantic with a warm and friendly population of 4,500. St Helena is a self-governing overseas territory of the UK. It’s now poised for transformation with the recent opening of a brand new international airport offering scheduled commercial air access. The 28-bed General Hospital in the capital, covers all areas of acute medical and surgical care.
We are looking for two Sister/Charge Nurses to ensure that appropriate systems are developed and operational and that risk management arrangements are in place, maintaining effective record management. With effective admission and discharge planning and management of duty rotas, annual leave and study leave, you will lead and participate in orientation and induction programmes, ensure supervision and mentorship is embedded and contribute to budget management
Familiar with changing trends in health and social care, you should be conversant with current professional issues in relation to nursing and be able to influence and manage change, including the promotion of evidence based practice.
This is a two year fixed term contract!
One post is to start immediately with interviews on the 4th April and one post is to start July 2019.
Person Specification: A Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the live NMC Register (or equivalent), you must hold a Nursing Degree and substantial recent post-registration experience within an Acute General Hospital setting. You should also have experience in an AAU/AMU (acute medical setting), A&E or ICU with up-to-date ALS or willing to undertake ALS training.
