This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week

Job Description

  • To effectively manage an orthopaedic inpatient and day-case caseload and provide highly specialised treatment to patients, using evidence based practice and highly developed clinical reasoning skills.
  • To prioritise your own workload within the time available, for example, fulfilling patient assessment/treatment commitments in conjunction with any other commitments.
  • To anticipate, assess and respond effectively to the needs of the patients, thus making excellent customer service a first priority.
  • To keep necessary records of assessment, treatment and progress of all patients according to CSP standards.
  • To be responsible for the safe and timely discharge of patients. Be able to communicate this effectively to other healthcare professionals and refer onwards as appropriate to community teams.

Duties & Responsibiities

  • To provide thorough assessment and treatment to orthopaedic inpatients within the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To be flexible to the hospital’s needs. This includes working overtime and weekend responsibilities as need dictates.
  • To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work.
  • To maintain a high standard of professional and personal conduct, complying with the HCA code of conduct and the HCPC rules of professional conduct.
  • To practice in accordance with the CSP standards, comply with evidence based medicine and actively seek to update personal professional development.
  • To create and maintain effective working relationships with Orthopaedic consultants, Occupational Therapists, nursing staff and clinical nurse specialists.

Skills & Experience

  • Physiotherapy degree qualification
  • Post registration broad clinical experience within Oncology
  • HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) registration
  • Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapists or equivalent is desirable
