The building of our new Hybrid theatre in 2019 helps define our focus on providing a theatre environment at the forefront of surgical developments

The Deputy Theatre Manager is responsible for running the theatre departments at the London Bridge and Guy’s campus and supporting the anaesthetic, scrub and recovery teams in delivering Outstanding patient care and an ideal operating environment for our Consultants

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the clinical and operational management of all operating theatres across the London Bridge Campus overseeing the operational management of operating theatre and day care areas
  • Utilise workforce planning methodologies to deliver services within budget, whilst maintaining quality and meeting the needs and expectations of service users
  • Lead on recruitment and provide managerial and clinical leadership to all staff working in the theatre environment, ensuring a high standard of care at all times and empowering teams to deliver excellence
  • Support the implementation of new service lines and to meet the strategic goals of the business
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and strive to maintain Outstanding CQC rating
  • Support our Patient Journey and Consultant Experience improvement plan across the departments
  • Assist the Surgical Services Manager to deliver departmental objectives
  • Participate in the development and timely review of theatre policies and procedures
  • Develop junior staff and assisting in identifying their education and development needs

Skills & Experience

  • RN/ODP (Dip) qualified Practitioner or other recognized qualification
  • NMC/HCPC Registered or other appropriate recognized body
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development, at a minimum educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Ability to collaborate constructively to create successful partnership working
  • Demonstrate leadership and influencing skills with the ability to motivate and enthuse individuals/teams
