Job Details
Join our dynamic and forward-looking School of Nursing and in this key role you will enhance our School’s reputation as a provider of children’s education. Articulate and well respected, you’ll have a keen interest in developing children's nursing education for qualified practitioners and pre-registration students at all levels. You will teach on programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, taking the lead on modules where appropriate. Alongside being involved in the pastoral care of students, you will be encouraged and supported to further your interests in research, enterprise or professional practice.
The Person
You will be passionate about children’s nursing and will be abreast of local and national developments in this area of practice. Clinically up-to-date and credible in your specialism, you will have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the confidence to inspire a diverse range of post-qualifying and pre-registration students. It is likely that you will be a nurse lecturer in children’s nursing. Alternatively, you may be a highly qualified clinical nurse specialist, lecturer/practitioner, or practice educator with extensive experience in children’s nursing who is keen to consolidate a career in higher education. Whatever your background, you’ll have current NMC registration and a Master’s degree in a related healthcare subject (or be willing to work towards this). It’s also likely you’ll have a teaching qualification, such as the UKPSF2 or PGCHE but if not, you’ll be willing to undertake our in-house teaching programme during your probationary period.
