Job Details

Florence Nightingale is one of the world’s most famous nurses and her influence and legacy continues around the globe today.  The Foundation advances the study of nursing and midwifery in order to promote excellence in patient care and is a living memorial to her.

The charity is recruiting a new Chief Executive who will bring their reputation, skills and commitment to the challenge of taking the Foundation forward to the next level.  We are seeking an individual with a track record of senior strategic leadership, multiple stakeholder engagement, national influence and good governance.  Experience of steering organisations through periods of growth and diversification would be an advantage.  Familiarity with the charity sector and an understanding of fundraising are important.  The new leader is expected to be up to date and knowledgeable about health and social care and academic environment.

We are seeking someone who will ensure the legacy of Florence Nightingale lives on and that nurses and midwives can provide strong leadership in policy and decision making at all levels of our health and social care systems.  There has never been a more exciting time to influence the development of the Foundation.

The Florence Nightingale Foundation is dedicated to encouraging a supportive, diverse and inclusive culture and community and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.

Detailed information about the post and Foundation can be found in the attached candidate briefing papers.
