Job Summary

Due to the success of the North West Macular Service mobile solution in the Preston and Tameside areas we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated level one Registered Nurse  with Ophthalmic Nursing  Qualifications to  join the team.

The role is mainly for the North West Macular  Mobile Unit at Preston but you may be required on occasion to work at the Tameside location. You are expected to deliver high quality compassionate care to our Ophthalmic Patients and assist other  Ophthalmic Nurse Specialists  in providing an innovative service.

Who are we looking for?

Applications from Full-Time (37.5 hours per week) and Part-Time (22.5 hours per week) are welcome.

The role requires you to work autonomously within your sphere of competency and have management responsibility for being in charge of designated area of the Ophthalmic Unit.  The post holder will practice advanced clinical skills and  be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.  They will also participate in the development of nurse-led clinical services within the North West Macular Service, providing expert advice, specialist education and training to others.

The successful candidate will be required to work effectively as part of a multi professional team, in line with protocols and policies of the local service and Care UK and professional boundaries. The post holder will be working independently/autonomously and at times without direct supervision, accountable for their own professional actions.  Ensuring the safety and well-being of service users, and always working in a manner that promotes  dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centred care principles.
