Location: St Helena, South Atlantic Tropical Island.

Salary: C £35,000 per annum PLUS a tax free International Supplement (£15,300 - £21,600)

Description: This hospital is based on a sub-tropical island of spectacular and beautiful landscapes in the South Atlantic with a warm and friendly population of 4,500. St Helena is a self-governing overseas territory of the UK. It’s now poised for transformation with the recent opening of a brand new international airport offering scheduled commercial air access. The 28-bed General Hospital in the capital, covers all areas of acute medical and surgical care.

Working as part of a team comprising two physiotherapists and a physiotherapy assistant, you will deliver a comprehensive physiotherapy service, within the hospital, residential care homes and island community.

This is a two year fixed term contract!

Person Specification: With substantial experience in a physiotherapy environment, you will hold a diploma/degree in physiotherapy which includes at least 1,000 hours of supervised clinical contact.

Health Professions Council Registration (UK) or equivalent is essential, as is a working knowledge of a broad range of conditions and of clinical placements. Up to date with professional practice and evidence-based research, your skills in physiotherapy manual techniques, clinical reasoning and treatment should be supported by good communication and IT skills. You will need a driving licence to fulfil your community role.
