Job Details

The Gastroenterology directorate is undergoing a two year transformation project changing the way in which patients are cared for and managed clinically and how nursing care is delivered. We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated nurses who would like to join the Gastroenterology team on this journey.

C4W is a specialised 25 bedded unit caring for patients with a range of acute and chronic gastroenterology conditions. Renovations are in progress to incorporate a hyper-acute bleeding bay on the unit, offering high dependency nursing care to acutely unwell patients.

The ward works in collaboration with the ambulatory care unit which is located on ward C4W. The ambulatory care unit offers a range of patient services including; nurse-led infusion service, ‘hot clinics’ and paracentesis and has been created solely for gastroenterology/liver services. The ward works closely with the alcohol and IBD service as well as the endoscopy department.

Education and training is strongly supported and nurses are encouraged to attend relevant courses and training conferences.

The gastroenterology liver unit will be relocating to The Grange hospital in 2021 which will be specifically designed for the care and treatment of gastroenterology patients.

Exciting plans in place for endoscopy services. We are opening an emergency endoscopy theatre in The Grange site and would welcome a rotation throughout our services.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
