Salary: £24,214 - £30,112 per annum pro rata  

Langdon Hospital are looking for Substantive Staff Nurses to work either full or part time hours per week.

Please note a relocation package may be available for this post

This is an exciting opportunity for both newly qualified staff who would still receive our supportive and excellent preceptorship programme, and those staff that have been qualified for a period of time but would like to expand their experience.

We primarily provide services to men only from Devon, Cornwall & The Isles of Scilly. We have a 60 bedded Medium Secure Unit housed in the new Dewnans Centre plus our Low Secure Units, Chichester House a 15 bedded unit and Avon House a 14 bedded unit together with our Open Units, Owen House a 16 bedded unit and Connelly House a 6 bedded unit.

The service is set in 111 acres of countryside and has vistas of the sea making it a beautiful environment to work in.

In order to support you we offer a robust supervision framework and have clear clinical and leadership development programmes. As well as a range of Continuing Professional Development opportunities from one day workshops to fully accredited courses, we provide an extensive Preceptorship Programme for newly qualified staff which includes six study days covering a range of topics and a comprehensive Preceptorship Handbook to support development in practice.

Staff are encouraged and supported to use quality improvement methodology to help improve on the services we offer. The Trust Quality improvement Academy provides access to expert advice and support in your work area.

We also have a Nursing forum for all nursing staff, which provides an opportunity to meet as a profession throughout the year and engages the wider nursing group in the development and implementation of the Nursing Strategy as well as updating on national nursing news.

The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, commitment to working flexibly, participating in the internal 24 hours, 7 day a week rota to meet the needs of people who use our services, be able to demonstrate effective working in a multi-disciplinary team setting and demonstrate a commitment to further development with the support of the team.
