The School of Health Sciences has recently moved to a brand new refurbished facility.  The state of the art teaching technology and Clinical Simulation Centre demonstrate the University’s investment in this highly achieving School. 

In order to support our creative teaching approaches we are seeking new health professionals who would like to become part of our team to support the delivery of our programmes.  In particular we are interested in supporting clinicians to remain contemporary in their professional practice whilst supporting the education of new and aspiring health care professionals.  If you are an autonomous practitioner registered with the NMC or HCPC come along to our open days where we will happily discuss how we can help you on your career move into education, either as a secondment opportunity or a full transition to Higher Education.

Specific areas of professional registration we are seeking to recruit to in order to complement our existing and successful teaching team are in; Children’s, Adult and Mental Health Nursing; Community and General Practice Nursing (with NMC Specialist Practice Award) and Paramedic.

As part of our extensive benefits package at Surrey, these appointments offer access to an excellent USS (University Superannuation Scheme) pension scheme.  We do recognise that some staff currently working in the NHS may prefer to explore whether they can continue with an existing NHS scheme, once they have moved to university employment. If you stop working for the NHS and take up an academic post at the University of Surrey, we are pleased to advise that you may be able to continue to pay into the NHS pension scheme; this facility enables you to continue to contribute towards your existing NHS pension despite no longer being employed by the NHS.   Access to the NHS pension scheme will only be available if certain criteria are satisfied, so if this is something you wish to investigate, please do check directly with the University of Surrey Pensions Office at pensions@surrey.ac.uk.
