Do you want to be part of a vibrant and dynamic team? The charitable Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth is looking for a Band 6 Registered Children’s Nurse to join our busy Paediatric team. Our Paediatric staff provide expert knowledge and services across the Hospital including Outpatients and our Urgent Care Centre. Ideally you will have experience of working within paediatrics in an acute hospital setting; Outpatients, Children’s Emergency or Urgent Care. Most of all you will have a passion to deliver excellent patient care across a diverse base of specialities as part of a small, welcoming and flexible team.
Located in leafy St John’s Wood on the Jubilee line, minutes from Central London, our luxury private Hospital has an international reputation for providing the highest quality of care to patients and is unique in that all profits fund our onsite Hospice, St John’s.
Am I the right person for this Paediatric Band 6 role?
- Current NMC Children’s nursing registration.
- Minimum of 3 years post-registration in nursing field
- Significant post registration skills
- Excellent communicator
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Confident decision maker
- Computer literate
- A willingness to learn
- A problem solver with a dynamic, positive and can-do attitude

St John & St Elizabeth Hospital was founded in 1865. Under the care of the Sisters of Mercy, an order of nuns who worked with Florence Nightingale during the Crimean war, the hospital pioneered the use of advanced nursing techniques to help those in need.
Now, 165-years later, the hospital remains true to its original purpose. As well as being one of the most advanced independent hospitals in the UK, all proceeds from treatments help fund our onsite St John’s Hospice, which provides free chronic and end-of-life care to over 4,500 people and their families each year.
The hospital is located at the heart of St John’s Wood, where we moved to 123-years ago. We cover a wide range of specialties and also have an on-site Imaging Department, Urgent Care Clinic, Private GP practice and Pharmacy.

St John’s Hospice, which can be found on the ground floor of our hospital, has a 17 bed ward which is set up to provide 24-hour inpatient care, a Hospice@Home service, community support team and Day Care Centre. The team covers specialist palliative care consultants, nurses, occupational therapists, dieticians, physiotherapists, complementary therapists and social workers.
