FTE: working 37 hours per week (1 Full Time Equivalent)

Duration of Contract: 2 x Permanent, 1 FTC for 9 months

Salary:

UH7 Lecturer Scale - £33,199 - £39,609 pa dependent on skills and experience

UH8 Senior Lecturer - £39,609 - £50,132pa

Main duties & responsibilities

To join the Non-medical Prescribing teaching team within the Primary Care Academic Group, undertaking planning, teaching, assessment and evaluation of the programme of study at undergraduate and postgraduate level for Non-medical Prescribing (and to teach on other appropriate Primary Care / Public Health programmes as required).

At Senior Lecturer level, additional duties will include;

  • Teach and develop the curriculum within designated modules, including the potential to contribute to short courses
  • Perform administrative and quality assurance duties
  • Contribute to Programme Development teams, Examination Boards and monitoring and review panels as appropriate
  • Represent public health/primary care and non-medical prescribing locally and nationally, contributing to departmental activities and national networks

Skills and experience needed

The individual appointed must have current live registration as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, or as an allied health professional with the Health and Care Professions Council.  The successful applicant must be an Independent Prescriber with proven experience as an Independent Prescriber.  

Qualifications required

At Lecturer level, you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related subject, as well as the professional registration and Independent Prescriber qualifications above. For appointment at Senior Lecturer level, a Master’s degree is also essential in addition to the Bachelors.
