Mental Health Practitioner

We are currently looking for a Mental Health Practitioner (Band 6) to work within a thriving and cohesive team.

The Community Mental Health Practitioner will work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team to provide a specialised/occupational mental health service for Junior soldiers within the Army Foundation College Harrogate.

Providing flexible and individualised care packages to meet individuals’ mental health needs.

The post holder will require robust clinical risk assessment skills and an understanding of the occupational role and needs of individuals presenting to the service.

The Mental Health Practitioner will be proactive in the development of service and organisational initiatives and will meet the expectation of offering clinical leadership to other agencies.

 

Qualifications:

1. Registered Mental Health Nurse with a demonstrable experience working at Band 5 or above.

Demonstrable post qualification experience in CAMHS or CAMHS related services and/or adult mental health community settings.

Demonstrable experience of using NICE recommended Psychological interventions.

OR

Must possess a Post graduate/Graduate certificate in evidence based psychological treatments with demonstrable experience in a CAMHS or community mental health role.

2. Registration with relevant professional body: you are expected to have the skills required to work as a registered professional and adhere to the NMC or HCPC Code of Conduct.

3. Specialist clinical reasoning, knowledge, skills and competencies regarding a range of CAMHS therapeutic interventions.

4. Knowledge of developmental theories/ stages.

5. Knowledge of legislation, safeguarding issues and national policies/ guidance in relation to mental health issues in children and young people.

6. High standard of verbal and nonverbal communication skills. High standard of written communication including routine use of information management systems.

7. Ability to manage own workload and to work autonomously, including prioritising key tasks and targets for intervention.

8. Evidence of developing effective working relationships with team colleagues.

9. Experience of offering specialist consultation/specialist support to multi agency partners.
