We know that Priory wouldn’t exist without their combined energy, expertise and effort.  So we invest heavily in training, provide first-class support, promote collaborative teamwork and give everyone on our team the opportunities and resources to achieve their full potential.

Abbey House provides a specialist psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery service for 25 men aged 18 years or older with enduring mental illness and/or personality disorder. We support the needs of both detained and voluntary patients and can manage patients with complex needs, including those with a history of offending.

You will need to hold a current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Mental Health) and provide evidence of continuing professional development.

You must have up to date knowledge of clinical practices and a strong understanding of relevant regulatory care compliance.

You will be required to lead a team, identifying any potential issues and effectively implement problem solving techniques to promote a therapeutic relationship between all disciplines and individuals in our care.

As a Staff Nurse you will be expected to manage a small case load supported by senior Staff Nurses and Charge Nurses.  You will be an active member of the MDT and will provide recovery focused care for the patients at Abbey House.

As a Staff Nurse you will be supervising Healthcare Workers on your shift and encouraging group work within that shift.

You will be responsible for administering medication to patients and monitoring the patients mental health throughout the shift.

Shifts run from 07:30am to 19:45pm and 19:30pm to 07:45am with 1.5 hours break.  You will be working a rota of Long Days and Nights.

Developing and reviewing of care plans and continued assessment of psychological, social and physical needs are requirements of the role and building an effective rapport with our patients is essential in developing professional relationships.

You will need to be able to work independently as well as part of a team and prioritise workload.

If you are passionate about delivering first class rehabilitation psychiatric care we would love to hear from you.

At Priory Healthcare, we’re passionately committed to making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support. But that’s just the start. As a recognised leader in the healthcare sector, we’re equally passionate about harnessing the potential of everyone on our team – including our rapidly growing community of RMN’s.

So join us and we can promise you one of the most dynamic and supportive career environments in the sector.

We are already the largest mental health provider in Europe and treat upwards of 80 conditions in over 275 facilities around the country. But look beyond our size and you will also discover an unrivalled reputation for providing quality, inspiring innovation and delivery value for our service users.

What does this mean for you? More than you might imagine.

You will enjoy excellent learning and development resources, too. Our working environment and culture are also exceptional. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, psychiatrists, therapists and other health care specialists. We don’t just work together. We listen to each other, share ideas, explore new ways of doing things and actively pursue innovation and excellence is all that we do. So while the work can be incredibly demanding, you will never lack the support, collaboration and encouragement you need to perform to your best and achieve your true potential.
