The Princess Grace Hospital has 127 registered beds, including 90 inpatient, 21 day case, 8 endoscopy, an urgent care unit and a Level 3 intensive care unit containing 9 beds, with 24-hour consultant cover and a high dependency unit. The hospital also has a several specialised centres, including; The London Breast Institute, recognised as one of the best private breast screening and diagnostic treatment centres in the UK; the London Digestive Centre, a highly specialised outpatient facility offering diagnoses and treatments for all conditions of the stomach, small and large intestines, liver, pancreas, and bile ducts; and The Institute of Sport Exercise and Health, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to sport and exercise medicine.

Job Description

This an amazing opportunity to lead a great team of highly skilled nurses on a 17 bedded Orthopaedic unit.  You will working alongside world renonowned who are leaders in their field, providing cutting edge treatments for a range of orthopaedic and spinal conditions.

You will work within your scope of professional practice to prioritise people, practice effectively, preserve safety and promote professionalism and trust in effectively managing a ward or department to provide excellent, safe, effective and compassionate care throughout the 24 hour period for a large clinical area.  It is expected that you will build a culture where innovation and evidence based practice is promoted and encouraged.  

This a a full time role working 37.5 hours per week

The attractive and competitive salary for this role is between £46,400 - £52,000 and will be dependent upon skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Minimum of four years relevant experience
  • Evidence of mentoring and development of staff
  • Evidence of continuing Professional Development
  • Experience of financial management/budgets
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills including listening skills
  • Ability to prioritise and organize workload
  • Track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships with all disciplines
  • Patient focused
  • Team leadership and staff motivation
  • Able to organise own time and make straightforward plans for task, some of which might be ongoing
  • Able to resolve conflict
  • Awareness of current professional issues

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing or registered experience equivalent to Diploma or Degree
  • RGN with live registration
  • Continued NMC revalidation
  • Evidence of further education
  • ALS or equivalent
  • Mentorship module or equivalent experience
  • Equivalent clinical module in the relevant area of experience
