About Greater Manchester Nurses

All of Greater Manchester’s health and social care organisations – from the NHS to emergency services and the voluntary sector – work together under the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership. This was formed in 2016 following devolution, when we took control of our own health and social care £6bn budget. Our ten boroughs now work together to transform our public services and tackle the biggest issues affecting our health.

This joined-up approach is helping to make Greater Manchester a better place to live and work. For nurses, that means a choice of roles and career paths as diverse as the area itself.

You can work in hospital wards, outpatient units or specialist departments, or get out into the community, working in homes, GP practices or nursing homes. You could focus on adults, children, mental health or people with learning disabilities. There are also many opportunities in education, research, informatics, the ambulance service, prison service and police – and we also have links with the voluntary and private sectors.
