Clinical Research Nurse
Job Ref: 267-CS1908951-A
Salary: Band 6 £30,401 to £37,267 pa
Hours: 37.5 pw
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust (OHFT) is an extremely research-active Trust undertaking studies ranging from small educational projects through to very complex and intensive Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPS) across a variety of disciplines from dementia, mental health, community health, children and young people services.
The Oxford cognitive health Clinical Research Facility (CRF) was established in 2011, specifically designed to support research studies primarily in areas of mental health and neurosciences. A variety of research studies are currently utilising the facility from National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and other grant funded studies through to commercial company clinical trials.
OHFT has succeeded in being awarded significant funding from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to support infrastructure for experimental medicine, including renewed funding for the CRF and a new Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) in partnership with the University of Oxford.
You’ll work as a study coordinator on the CRF, co-ordinating clinical trial delivery and supporting the research service within the CRF. You’ll be responsible for assessing and managing care pathways for patients and carers participating in clinical trials. This will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of trial patients and the collection and documentation of accurate data, including blood and tissue samples. You will work collaboratively with the wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of your own caseload of clinical trial patients and studies.
The role involves using an in-depth knowledge of trial protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with the local, national and international research regulations. This post would suit someone with a clinical background in nursing with a hands-on background in clinical trials/research. The ability to work confidently and autonomously is essential.
A band 5 role for will be considered to the right candidate if you do not have all the required experience for this post. This will allow you to progress your way up to a band 6 once all the knowledge and experience is gathered.
