 An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team The team  are responsible for the risk assessment and management of young people experiencing acute mental health crisis in both community and A&E settings.

We welcome applications from registered nurses, with the relevant experience in mental health crisis services or an acute or community mental health setting:

  • You should enjoy working within a busy and challenging environment, and must be able to work effectively under pressure
  • You will have a thorough knowledge of mental illness and therapeutic interventions, and the ability to assess individuals presenting in acute mental health crisis.
  • You will have a thorough understanding of clinical risk assessment and must be competent in the utilisation of a model of positive risk taking that supports the patient’s independence and autonomy
  • As a senior member of staff, you will have the experience required to co-ordinate the workload of the team on a regular basis and to offer support and supervision within the team.

We are looking for candidates who have demonstrable knowledge, understanding and experience of working with the legal frameworks which relate to the care and treatment of children and young people in crisis. In particular the Children Act 1989, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended in 2007).

RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE:

Due to the hard to recruit nature of this post, it has been identified by NELFT as being eligible for a welcome payment subject to the terms set out within the NELFT Recruitment Policy.

This post also attracts a one off payment equivalent to 10% of annual basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,000 and maximum of £10,000 (pro-rata).
