Full and part time vacancies for Oncology

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is home to one of the largest Acute and Palliative Oncology services in the UK which recently scored 100% in our friends and family test. The service, which is a centre of excellence, operates as one department covering Acute and Palliative care and has recently undergone a period of expansion and refurbishment.

Due to this investment in patient care, we currently have newly created vacancies on our dedicated Oncology ward for Registered Nurses.

Mulbarton ward is the dedicated home of our Acute and Palliative Oncology service. As a ward we care for patients from acute new diagnosis through radiation and symptom control post treatment and end of life care.

The department is supported by a 7 days a week acute oncology service with its own assessment and treatment area.

The team is also actively involved with medial trails both local and national as we constantly strive to improve patient care. The team, including Clinical nurse Specialists and Medical staff work together to provide exemplary care and are supported by staff education, development and clinical supervision.

Duties of the role will include

Patient communication, information giving and support
Holistic care

Acute Oncology

Radioactive iodine treatment
Chemotherapy administration through learning package
Blood product support
IV drug therapies
Advanced symptom control
Enhanced skills including venepuncture, cannulation and CVAD access Stem cell re-infusion

Hours of work– 37.5 hours per week, 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week including night shifts.
