We are looking for Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioners to join our Paediatric Emergency Department team.

We are very excited to be developing a Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioner workforce in our high achieving and friendly Emergency Department team. We are looking for an established and experienced Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our team.

We are looking for someone who has completed an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice who has or is willing to work towards credentialing. As well as working within our busy Emergency Department the role will also support our trainee Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioners develop in their role. We have a Consultant lead for Advanced Clinical Practice and a dedicated Professional Development Team.

We are a stand-alone Paediatric Emergency Department within a wider Emergency Department and see 41,000 children per year. We offer a Consultant led service with 24 hour 7 days a week consultant cover. Our unit is staffed with all paediatric trained nurses and we have a mixture of paediatric and emergency medicine trainees. We work closely with our Adult Emergency Department staff for a harmonized unit and have active ongoing research projects within the department.

Our Emergency Department recently received a rating of ‘Excellent’ from the CQC for ‘Caring’ (CQC, 2018), which reflects our dedication to looking after our patients and colleagues. As a central London teaching hospital, we try and create a continuous clinical learning environment by promoting evidence based practice, robust mentoring systems, sharing learning and investing in the professional development of our staff.
