Job Details

Trainee Care Co-coordinator (inviting applications from Band 5 Nurses and Occupational Therapists)

Both Internal (secondment) and External (Fixed term contract) applicants welcome.

We are pleased to introduce an innovative development programme for Band 5 Occupational Therapists, Registered Mental Health Nurses/ Registered Learning Disability Nurses and Social Workers with at least one year’s relevant post qualification experiences, who now want to take the next step in developing their career.

The Band 6 Care Co-coordinator role is exciting, challenging and varied. However, we recognize that the skills for the role are best developed through a competency development programme within the service. We have therefore developed this unique programme and are making it available to provide an opportunity for developing careers within the Trust. The programme will allow staff to build on existing strengths and experiences to contribute to a forward thinking Community Mental Health Service. Haringey is an innovative Borough which is developing new ways of working such as Open Dialogue.

Who can apply?

Band 5 Occupational Therapists, Nurses (RMN or Learning Disabilities) or Social Workers with at least one year post registration experience.

How will we support you?

We will provide a framework to support you to achieve the required competency standards. The development programme will run for 3 months and we would hope that most staff that start the programme will be able to complete it within this time frame. We will work with you for an additional three months, where the original expectation was not sufficient.

You will be mentored whilst working your way through our bespoke competency framework and join a facilitated peer support group that will meet at regular intervals throughout the programme.

During this period you will continue to be paid at Band 5. On successful completion of this programme, you will move straight into a permanent Band 6 Care Co-coordinator role within Haringey Community Mental Health Services and begin coordinating the care of our clients.

You will continue to have access to high quality clinical and professional supervision to support your continued professional development.
