Staff Nurse (RMN/RGN) in Eating Disorders - Band 5

We are proud of our renowned Eating Disorders service, and invite you to join us on our journey towards greater excellence. An exciting future is ahead, why not be part of it?

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and dynamic staff nurses (including newly qualified nurses) to be part of our inpatient team on Phoenix Ward, which is a 20 bedded inpatient unit for the care and treatment of females and males aged 18 and above who have eating disorders.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and training in this interesting and specialized area of mental health care. Bespoke training on caring for patients with an eating disorder is provided, as well as training in psychological interventions and physical health interventions. This nursing role on Phoenix Ward is ideal for someone who is motivated and is inspired to instill positive change. We will support you to develop as a professional nurse, with opportunities to participate in quality and service improvement initiatives, and support you with NMC revalidation.

Phoenix Ward is part of the comprehensive eating disorder service provided at St Ann’s Hospital through Specialist Services at Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust. St Ann’s Eating Disorder Service also comprises a large outpatient department, which provides care and treatment to those with eating disorders in North Central and North East London, and a day programme.

Andrew, Staff Nurse:

"I worked on Phoenix Ward as a student nurse for 12 weeks and finally as an RMN after my studies. The experience on placement motivated me to accept the RMN job after the placement. I really appreciated the support that I received from the Ward Manager, my mentor and all the nursing team as a whole. It was truly an experience that I will never forget."

We will ensure that you are provided with the additional skills and knowledge in order to provide excellent care, and you will be supported through an induction period when you start. We offer a preceptorship programme and opportunities for clinical and managerial career progression. Other benefits include generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working, and salary sacrifice schemes (including cars, bicycles and home electronics).

Interview Date: 29th of October 2019
