About the Role

The Island has 200 new strokes per year on average. The stroke team provides hyper acute, acute and rehabilitation care within a 12 bedded stroke unit, which is a challenging and constantly changing environment. Care is provided via a number of modalities including telemedicine within the hyper acute service which is nurse led and delivered 24/7.

We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, committed and skilled nurse who has the passion to develop and deliver excellence in the care of people affected by stroke. Our goal is to provide the people on the Isle of Man with the best small island stroke service available. The ideal person will be innovative and support the expansion and development of the stroke service using research, audit and customer engagement to achieve this.

The role requires a curious person, as a team we encourage questioning, problem solving and creativity to both deliver excellent patient care and drive change. We want someone who has strong leadership and a clear track record of managing patient focussed care to a high standard.

The stroke team is interdisciplinary and consists of nurses, healthcare assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, medical staff, a specialist nurse, social workers and the third sector, it is welcoming and supportive and would love the right candidate to complete our team.

This role provides excellent opportunities for development in education and research and would actively support the team member in the career development and progression.

Relocation Package

This role may qualify for a recruitment incentive of £3,000 which will be payable in the 1st, 13th, and 25th months of employment.

Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month.
