Job Details

Following new investment as a provider of choice, in line with the transformation of mental health services we are keen to expand our existing workforce within the community mental health teams.

Why not join a future focused, person centred organisation that is looking to invest in the local community and its workforce. Herefordshire’s demographic varies from inner city population to small towns and rural communities. We are privileged with regards to the city and county being steeped in history and it truly is a beautiful place to live and work.

You will be based in either Hereford City, Ross on Wye, Leominster or Ledbury to which a preference will be asked at interview. You will be expected to work flexibly to cover according to service delivery need across the county. The service operates from 9 am -5 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

Due to organisational reconfiguration we are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated professionals to become part of a primary care facing community. We are a forward thinking service, currently designing a new integrated delivery model that welcomes innovative thinkers and values its employee’s and people with lived experiences who are accessing our services.

The service is a busy mental health service which offers a variety of therapeutic interventions to the people of Herefordshire County. The team’s ethos is Recovery driven with an emphasis on compassion focused care. Collaborative working with service users will be expected as part of delivering excellent evidenced based care. We pride ourselves on delivering a quality based service to our local community.

The team works with partner agencies within an integrated health care environment to provide collaborative interventions and care packages which promote and enable recovery for people with severe and/or enduring mental health challenges. This is a truly exciting opportunity to be at the fore of transformed mental health services.

Aspects of the role would include: close working within primary care centres, undertaking mental health needs assessments, management of risk, providing support to other professionals and to those in a caring role in addition to the supervision of junior staff including students.

Responsibilities also include care coordination that will require the successful applicant to work autonomously to manage their case load whilst working within a multi-disciplinary team.

This is a community based position and you will need to be able to meet the travel requirements.

The workload is fast paced and varied. In order for us to achieve best applications of therapeutic interventions your ability to problem solve and support those with lived experience of mental health during times of crisis is fundamental. You should therefore have the ability to manage your own time effectively to meet the needs of your caseload and team.

We value our workforce and are committed to ensuring your wellbeing is maintained. Our staff benefit from regular supervision and robust appraisals. Additionally group supervision/learning forums are available with a team psychologist

There is scope for professional development as the trust has a repertoire of training available to those wishing to extend their skill set. Developing our workforce is important to us, and we are pioneering champion roles across the organisation. There is an exciting training programme being developed specifically for our staff to ensure the model of care, mapped against national standards is delivered effectively by a skilled workforce.

This post will offer the opportunity to develop your career in a challenging and demanding arena whilst at the same time become part of a supportive and valued team of multi professionals. We would welcome the application of a highly motivated Band 6 Qualified Mental Health Nurse with suitable experience in a community setting, and will also consider those with previous experience to include, acute mental health, older adults and learning disabilities.

If you are looking to be part of an exciting opportunity and contribute to the development of community mental health services in Herefordshire then please apply, we look forward to hearing from you.

For any further information please contact: Rachael Oliver, interim Clinical Team Lead for South Recovery Teams or Joe Parham, interim Clinical Team lead for North Recovery Team at our Widemarsh Street Office on: 01432 371 380.
