Job Details

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide leadership and management as Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to an acute medical ward.

We have recently implemented supervisory status to our ward sisters and charge nurse roles, which ensures they are visible and accessible in the clinical areas to role model, drive performance, manage patient flow and improve the patient experience. This identifies the importance we place in this role in leading the team in the delivery of quality, patient safety and clinical governance.

A high level of interpersonal communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside excellent relevant clinical skills in order to provide confidence in nursing care to patients, carers, nursing team and the organisation.

Applicants must have previous experience of leading a team, and demonstrate the ability to inspire and motivate others, implementing and managing change through effective leadership. 5 years post qualifying experience is essential, to include 3 years within medical nursing.

Applicants should also possess a degree in a health related subject, a recordable teaching or mentorship qualification and be willing to work towards Level 7 studies.

In making an application for this role, you should note that the Government of Jersey is in the process of restructuring to modernise how we deliver public services. As we work to ensure we have the right structure for the future, we will also be reviewing our (HR) people policies and total reward structures (pay and other terms and conditions) to provide parity across all pay groups.

Company

Covering an area of 45 square miles and with a resident population just over 100,000, Jersey is the largest and most southerly of the Channel Islands. And our Health and Social Services aim to improve the health and wellbeing of Islanders through the delivery of high quality, person focused health and social care.

To meet these goals, our staff are working with our voluntary, community and independent sector partners, including those in Primary Care, to continue to transform and develop services in line with our vision as described in ‘A New Way Forward for Health and Social Care’.

Following a period of service redesign and significant investment, we now need experienced and motivated people to help us realise our collective ambition and play an active part in delivering  within our community mental health teams.

Jersey is an island community built on care and it’s why we look out for, and after one another so well. This is your chance to make the move, start a new adventure and rediscover why you love what you do, and who you are. This is care rediscovered.
