Patient care is consultant led but we have a team of Resident Medical Officers based on the unit 24/7 and we are also supported by a critical care outreach team who support deteriorating patients

What we’re looking for

As a Lead Scrub Theatre Practitioner, you will undertake the management of the surgical service on a day to day basis and be responsible for delivering a consistently high standard of patient care utilising evidence-based practice. In addition, you will provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team and deputise for the Theatre Manager in their absence.

This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week (typically 5 x 7.5 hour shifts).  The attractive salary will be competitive dependent on skills and experience  plus benefits

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a consistently high standard of patient care utilising evidence based practice
  • Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluation of peri-operative patient care
  • Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of quality patient care by the use of evidence based
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement in customer service practice
  • Identify and implement, where possible, business development opportunities and to understand the healthcare market and customer needs.
  • Orientate new staff to department and assist them in integrating with the team
  • Promote and maintain a positive learning environment for all staff
  • Ensure surgeons’ and the patients’ perioperative needs are fulfilled in an efficient and effective manner
  • Co-ordinate staff and resources to meet departmental needs, within budget

Skills & Experience:

  • Current RGN or ODP Registration
  • Extensive experience in a similar role 
  • Ideally have extensive experience in Orthopeadics and a knowledge of Robotics
  • You will also have experience of leading a team, which involves the mentoring of other members of theatre staff.
