Chief Nurse (Acute & Specialist Services) - Shetland
An excellent opportunity has arisen to appoint a new Chief Nurse (Acute) at the Gilbert Bain Hospital, which is a Rural General Hospital in Shetland.
We are seeking to recruit an inspiring, passionate, talented individual who will support the consistent delivery of high standards of care with a focus on improving patient safety and patient experience, in line with the national care assurance framework for Scotland – Excellence in Care.
The post holder will have experience of leading nurses, relevant clinical services and Board wide initiatives. You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully leading clinical teams, managing change and putting safety, quality and patient experience at the heart of everything you do.
Joining our organisation as Chief Nurse (Acute) you will be responsible for the strategic and operational development of nursing and clinical services in the Acute and Specialist Services Directorate. This includes leading on unscheduled care, practice education and older peoples care. As part of the Hospital Management Team, the Chief Nurse (Acute) will work collaboratively with other heads of service and senior clinicians to provide assurance to the Executive Team and the Board that robust systems of governance and care assurance are in place and that high quality patient led services are being developed and delivered.
As part of the senior nursing/midwifery leadership team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of service plans.
