Job Details

There really has never been a more exciting time to join us; University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and Weston Area Health NHS Trust have merged together to become one organisation. Our newly merged Trust has a combined workforce of over 13,000 staff, aiming to deliver exceptional local services for local people and specialist services across the South West and beyond. Together, we form one of the largest NHS trusts in the country.

Are you an outstanding nurse ready for your next challenge? Do you share our Trust values and strive for clinical excellence? Would you like to work in an outstanding Trust and make a difference to people’s lives?

At UHBW, our nurses truly are the life blood of our Trust and we pride ourselves on creating a nurturing environment for our nursing staff to take the next step in their nursing journey.  You may be ready for a change from your current specialty or it may be that you are at a point in your career where you've got some itchy feet and just want a new environment. Whatever the case let us show you that UHBW is the place for you.

Due to service reconfiguration, our Respiratory ward has transferred to a much larger area. Therefore, we are in a position to expand our workforce and offer new opportunities for Band 5 Staff Nurses to join this friendly and welcoming team. We now have 32 beds including 24 cubicles and 2 four-bedded bays. We care for patients who require both ward-based respiratory care and respiratory high care. Our highly skilled team provide interventions including NIV BIPAP/CPAP, High Flow Oxygen therapy and Tracheostomy care. We can provide support and training to develop the skills and knowledge to enable you to progress in this speciality.

We are looking for nurses who inspire others and who work harder because they want to, not because they have to. If you are highly motivated, enthusiastic and have excellent communication skills this could be the job for you.

At UHBW, we’ll give you the tools and support, but you will be in full control of your development. Our nurses know why they chose to continue their nursing journey here, join us and find out your reason why.

Company

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country, bringing together a combined workforce of over 13,000 staff and over 100 different clinical services across 10 different sites.

With services from the neonatal intensive care unit to care of the elderly, we provide care to the people of Bristol, Weston and the south west from the very beginning of life to its later stages.

Our staff are the lifeblood of our Trust. They provide general diagnostic, medical and surgical services to the populations of central Bristol, south Bristol and north Somerset. These services are delivered from our Bristol city centre campus and Weston General Hospital with some services delivered in community settings such as South Bristol Community Hospital.

We also provide specialist services such as children's services, cardiac and cancer services, and other smaller specialist services that are nationally commissioned, to a wider population through the south west and beyond.

We offer careers that provide different challenges every day. Through supported development, on-the-job training and continued education, we encourage all of our staff to strive higher and achieve their potential. Become a part of something bigger by using your skills to help us keep UHBW operating as a centre of medical excellence, providing excellent care and service to the hundreds of patients who pass through our hospitals every day.
