Are you a dedicated and ambitious Midwifery leader seeking a leading role at one of the country's busiest organisations? If so this may be the opportunity for you. Due to the retirement of our current Director of Midwifery we are looking for a new individual to clinically lead a team of over 500 midwives and support staff across our two main sites. The post holder will be a clinical role model for midwifery at King's, with a proven track record of delivering outstanding care whilst maintaining clinical credibility as an effective manager.

At King's we are looking for a clinical leader who is focused on the safety, quality and care outcomes for the women and families who use our services. You should champion our Trust values and be committed to collective leadership across the range of services we provide. The post holder will be given the opportunity to lead as part of the Care Group triumvirate and Trust senior leadership team, as well as representing the organisation locally and nationally across maternity networks.

We are proud of our award winning King’s maternity services. Our Denmark Hill site is in the centre of all that London has to offer and the teams respond with passion, creativity and skill to local maternity drivers, national policy requirements and the international pandemic whilst our Princess Royal University Hospital site is one of the most progressive & dynamic maternity units within London, currently undertaking in circa 4,500 births per year. Our world class foetal medicine unit and our role as a tertiary referral service means we care for the most high risk and advanced obstetric cases. From home births to water births in our beautiful midwife led rooms, we are dedicated to informed choice and to elevating our service to meet the care needs of women and their families.

The post holder will ensure that King’s midwives are supported by a team who want to develop careers, prioritise wellbeing, increase skills and make our service a great place to work. You will be an essential part of leading our transformation programme to offer an outstanding maternity service.
