As the Lead Theatre Practitioner, you will be accountable for providing high quality clinical assistance to the Anaesthetist during surgical procedures. You will ensure that professional and national standards are met in accordance to the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Health Professions Council (HPC) and HCA’s Code of Conduct.


You will also be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care for patients undergoing surgical procedures and will need to prepare the Anaesthetic room according to the individual needs of the patient and Anaesthetist.

This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week. 


The attractive and competitive salary for this role is between £48,00 - £52,000 (with an additional 4% shift enhancement) and will be dependent upon skills and experience.

Experience

  • Registered Nurse/ODP
  • Extensive demonstrable experience within a similar role
  • Management course/training desirable

Duties

  • To demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and to be accountable for own actions
  • Provide clinical advice on to staff and maintain an appropriate learning environment
  • To co-ordinate staff and resources to meet departmental needs, within budget
  • To bear responsibility for equipment being in good working order
  • Co-ordinate the orientation of new staff, staff development and performance review

About the Facility

The Portland Hospital is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare of women and children. We're the UK's largest private children's hospital with over 46 paediatric beds including a 10-bed intensive care unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, and a day case unit.
