Location: University College Hospital Private Care (HCA@UCH) 

Hours: Full time 37.5 hrs pw (Long days/nights/weekends) 

Salary: £36,547-£42,638 (Inclusive of 9% shift enhancement) dependent on relevant experience & Skills + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development) 

About the Role 

As a Staff Nurse working on the haematology inpatient unit, you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to ensure that our patients are cared for in a safe, compassionate and comfortable environment. This will include meeting physical, psychological and spiritual needs by effectively communicating with the patient, their families and your colleagues.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Assess, plan and deliver care to meet individual patient and family needs in accordance with agreed protocols (SOP’s/policies) 

  • Demonstrate impeccable clinical practice at all times and respond appropriately to deteriorating patients, changing patient condition and safety triggers e.g. NEWS 2, SBAR 

  • Work productively within a team and promote a multi-disciplinary approach whilst recognising own responsibility and accountability. 

  • Participate in research based care and other practice development initiatives. 

  • Contribute towards clinical audit and quality initiatives towards the continual improvement of patient care and experience 

  • Provide a welcoming, caring and safe environment for all patients, families and carers regardless of race, culture or beliefs. 

Skills & Experience: 

  • Registered General Nurse with valid NMC pin 

  • Post registration experience within haematology or oncology setting or equivalent 

  • Intravenous chemotherapy administration experience 

  • Mentorship and Preceptorship experience, or willingness to work towards this 

  • Motivated and forward thinking individual with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload 

  • Evidence of self-development and service improvement and a willingness to continue this
