AMU is a dynamic healthcare environment which provides acute and emergency care to patients presenting with a variety of medical conditions, and also encompasses an Ambulatory Assessment Area. The post-holder will work with a range of services and healthcare professionals across the interface of acute and primary care. This post provides an opportunity to develop new knowledge and skills within a large diverse team.

Urgent Care Services, of which Acute Medicine Unit is part of, sits within the Medicine Directorate in NHS Tayside. The Acute Medicine Unit comprises of Acute Medical Assessment, Ambulatory Assessment and Short Stay Medicine. Urgent Care provides an excellent opportunity for any individual to enhance their acute medical skills to advanced level.

You will work within a clinical team that values patient safety and the delivery of safe, effective high quality care within a challenging acute assessment environment.

You should be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the NMC of the NMC Register, and demonstrate extensive post registration within a relevant speciality.

Hours of work are: 37.5 hours per week (day/night rotation)
