Join us today at Priory Hospital Barnt Green and receive our £5000 welcome to Priory bonus Deputy Ward Manager

Priory Hospital Barnt Green are looking for three clinically trained Deputy Ward Managers (RMN’s and RNLD’s) to work across our two NHS wards and our Private ward. Nursing in mental health has never been more challenging as we continue to provide the highest quality care in a COVID-secure and safe way, as a Deputy Ward Manager, you will take a leading role in guiding others to maintain quality care safely.

Your previous experience as a Staff Nurse and Senior Staff Nurse will help you as you lead and manage others to guide patients as they progress on their individual treatment journeys. The hospital operates a recovery focussed and trauma-informed approach so as to provide support that helps people achieve their goals taking into account their life experiences.

This is more than a job, it’s a vocation. You will work alongside dedicated and supportive colleagues who share this same passion to help others. We welcome people from all backgrounds and value the contribution that your life experience, culture and world view can bring.

As a Deputy Ward Manager with Priory Group, you will receive full training, support and guidance to enable you to provide high quality care. You will be offered the opportunity to develop further enabling you to progress further in your career if you choose to do so. As part of this you will need to complete our bespoke training, including prevention & management of violence and aggression training (PMVA). You will also need to complete an enhanced DBS check (it’s worth remembering that a “positive disclosure” such as a criminal record will not automatically exclude you from working with us but it is highly recommended that you talk to us about anything you think may be disclosed as early as possible).

Our Hospital is open 24 hrs a day and therefore you will need to be able to work both days and nights across all 7 days of the week. Our shifts generally run from 7:30am – 8pm for day shifts and 7:30pm – 8am for night shifts, and full time colleagues can expect to work 3 shifts per week for 3 weeks and 1 week where you will have 4 shifts (this will vary depending on the needs of Hospital), although you will be expected to work some 9am-5pm shifts. You will also have a mixture of clinical days and supernumerary days. Although you will be allocated to a specific ward, there will be times where your knowledge and skills will be required on other wards.

Our working environment and culture are also exceptional. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, psychiatrists, therapists and other health care specialists. We don’t just work together. We listen to each other, share ideas, explore new ways of doing things and actively pursue innovation and excellence is all that we do.
