Job overview

We have a new ward opening and are now recruiting compassionate and caring individuals to help us care for people when they need us the most.

Blickling Ward, which will be opening early 2021, will be our new Older Persons Dementia and Functional Ward, based at the Julian Hospital in Norwich.

As well as helping us to open and imbed the new ward, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, undertaking on the job training as well as completing a Band 6 development portfolio. Our line management profile is consistently 100% every month as we believe supporting our staff is key to job role satisfaction. Feeling valued with autonomy and respect.

Main duties of the job

We want to recruit Nurses who have experience in or an interest to develop new skills to support patients with a dementia diagnosis and complex mental health and physical health needs.  We are seeking a variety of skills and knowledge to join our teams, to enrich our workforce and provide the best care experience for our patients.

You will have the opportunity to become involved with the many project groups that all our staff are involved with to promote the standards that we expect which support our patients, families and carers.

The Julian Hospital is already home to several older people’s wards and has consistently received "Good" ratings from the CQC inspections over the previous three years. If you would like to understand the complexities of dementia related illness and the physical health needs of patients that we support, we will ensure that you receive the training and time to update yourself with this necessary knowledge base that is unique to this field of nursing.

We have Specialist Nurses, Nurse Consultant and Nurse Prescribers as well as Matrons and Practice Education Facilitators.  We employ Mental Health Nurses and also Registered Nurses who have physical health skills but an interest and passion for Mental Health Nursing.

Our nursing teams are compliments by a wide variety of roles such as Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers as well as Psychologists.  All play a vital role and are valued members of our teams.
