Hours: 37.5pw

Salary: £17,000-£22,000 dependent on experience plus Company benefits

 

Job Description

As a Healthcare Assistant in the Theatre Department you will be responsible for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance and will participate in the assessment of patient care needs and implement and maintain the agreed standards of care. You will assist with day to day roles; supporting procedures, meeting and greeting patients, completing necessary documentation and help maintain the smooth running of the department.

This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week working flexible shifts to meet the opening hours of the department.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • To assist with moving patients within the department as necessary.
  • To assist with setting up for procedures as required.
  • To assist in maintaining the tidiness and cleanliness of the department.
  • To help with the maintenance of stock levels
  • Respond appropriately to accidents or untoward incidents/occurrences that arise within the unit and provide accurate documentation.
  • To be conversant with all local policies and procedures and to act accordingly.
  • Ensure the safety of patients and staff and ensure that all incidents are reported to the Manager.
  • Ensure that all equipment is used safely and effectively.

Skills and experience

  • Acute Hospital Healthcare experience essential
  • Experience in Theatres
  • NVQ3 in Health Care
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Exceptional communication and organisation skills.
  • Ability to be flexible with working patterns
  • Competent IT user
  • Aware of emergency procedures
