Carn Y Cefn Ward, Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan Hospital.A vacancy has arisen within the mental health adult inpatient services at Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan Hospital. The position is primarily a full time post but flexible working hours will be considered.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Registered individual to join Carn Y Cefn acute mental health unit. The unit provides assessment, treatment and stabilisation of patients with mental health problems.

Carn Y Cefn is an 11 bedded acute mental health unit serving the Blaenau Gwent Borough for patients from the age of 18 years to 65years. The unit works closely with the North Gwent Home Treatment Team who gate keep admissions and facilitate the patients early discharge back to the community. The unit also works closely with the Community Mental Health Team and associated services within ABUHB and within the catchment area.Carn Y Cefn provides an ideal setting for newly qualified staff to gain experience of the acute setting.

You will need to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high quality person centred care. You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, carers and other professionals. A sound understanding of risk management and the CTP process is expected. You must be an excellent team player, have high levels of motivation and enthusiasm for working in a demanding but rewarding service. You will be joining a team that is passionate and focused on achieving excellence in care delivery, for this challenging and rewarding patient group.

Flexible working hours will be considered.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
