We are a well-established Oncology team and are passionate about ensuring excellence in clinical care, teaching, training and End of Life Care (EOLC).

We've earned the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM) and in October 2016 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated clinical service provision at The Nuffield Hospital Cambridge as 'outstanding'.

The role:

We are looking for an experienced chemotherapy nurse with extended knowledge in malignant haematology and solid tumours to join our Oncology Team.

You will be based within the Oncology Unit but be responsible for:

  • Delivering chemotherapy and systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) and supportive treatments to patients within the day unit and in-patient settings.
  • Work closely with our consultants, by supporting them in patient consultations, to provide a seamless journey for their patients.
  • Provide high quality, specialist advice, counselling and supportive care to patients and their families by utilising our survivorship programme and working with the wider MDT team.

The person;

  • You will need to be enthusiastic and flexible in your approach to your work as although you will work as part of the Oncology team your role will be to support other Health Care Professionals who are involved with caring for cancer patients and their families.
  • Ideally you will have post registration experience with a chemotherapy qualification We actively encourage and support professional development
  • Further essential criteria include: excellent communication skills, an ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team, to have a broad knowledge of the holistic needs of patients both with tumour site specific cancers or haematological malignancies and experience in intravenous chemotherapy administration.

Salary - Up to £33,000 depending on experience

Location- Cambridge Hospital

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
