Location: Harley Street Clinic

Hours: 37.5pw (Mon-Fri)

Salary: £45,000-£53,000 (Dependent on skills & experience) + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed professional who is already an experienced nurse working with breast cancer patients . As a clinical nurse specialist you will also act as resource to other healthcare professionals on breast cancer treatments and supportive care issues, facilitating high quality specialist nursing care to all patients with breast cancer and their families and friends, from diagnosis, during treatment and after treatment, helping them to move forward.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership which inspires, motivates and empowers nurses within the service and is responsible for effectively managing the financial resources, ensuring the optimal deployment of the nursing workforce to ensure high-quality patient care is delivered and monitored. This will require the post holder to contribute to both corporate and hospital initiatives and plans, particularly in respect of changes in patient care delivery and quality.

Skills & Experience

Essential Qualifications: 

  • Registered Nurse
  • Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care, breast cancer or relevant subject (ENB 998, 237, diploma breast care nursing)
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Level 2 psychological skills training as per recognised course or working towards
  • Advanced Communications Skills Training or working towards
  • Recognised teaching qualification or working towards it

Essential experience: 

  • Extensive post registration experience, at Band 6 or above, in cancer, breast care or palliative care
  • Experience of teaching
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge and experience
  • Able to conduct reflective practice and participates in clinical supervision facilitated by a level 3 / 4 practitioner
  • Experience of multi-professional working skills
  • Ability to lead and influence change
