This is a new position created to provide support for our Outpatient Manager and leadership to our highly skilled team. You will co-ordinate our clinics, manager rosters, support our more junior nurses and deputise in the absence of our Outpatient Manager. Our Outpatient services include pre-assessment and cardiology where you will cover a varied and diverse caseload.

Hospital facilities include 42 beds, 4 Theatres, an Endoscopy Suite, 16 consulting rooms, MRI, CT, General Imaging, Pathology, Physiotherapy and an onsite Pharmacy.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Deputy Outpatient Manager will be responsible for supporting the Manager in ensuring delivery of high quality and efficient outpatient & pre-assessment services.
  • Delivering key quality performance and financial plans & service enhancements.
  • Assist in the operational delivery of outpatient & pre-assessment services ensuring the efficient running of the department, this will include clinical work in the department.
  • Seek and employ innovative methods of improving service delivery in line with the 5 CQC Key lines of Enquiry, always aiming to achieve Good and Outstanding.
  • To ensure that Clinical Governance and risk management are embedded within daily practice.
  • Carry out both clinical & managerial duties and audits.
  • Lead by example in providing excellent patent care
  • Training and develop more junior team members

Skills & Experience

  • Registered nurse with active NMC Pin.
  • Post qualification experience of having worked in an Outpatient Department/Pre-assessment setting.
  • Ability to manage, motivate, support teams and develop the departments.
  • A focus on positive and user experience.
  • Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • IT literate
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills

Full time, 37.5 hours a week
