Outreach Nurse – ITU - Full-Time

Location – The Wellington Hospital, St Johns Wood, London

Salary (Pro-rata) – Upwards of £42,000 + 9% Shift Enhancement + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced critical care nurse to join our dynamic Critical Care Outreach team. We are looking for someone who demonstrates sound clinical knowledge, with relevant experience in an acute/critical care setting to support the delivery of a high quality nurse led Outreach Service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The CCOT is a multidisciplinary team of experienced critical care practitioners that assist with the nursing care of patients who are acutely unwell, deteriorating or at a high risk of deterioration. This is achieved by supporting education and working with the ward staff to optimise the quality, care and experience of our patients.

The CCOT are also members of the hospital resuscitation team providing clinical response to peri/cardiac arrest and major haemorrhage events. The Team also supports the safe transfer of patients from low acuity wards to HDU or ITU. 

The CCOT at WH plays an active role in ensuring the standards of care across the hospital are maintained. They participate in implementation of action plans to improve safety and care standards. The team also works alongside the Site team on our hospital at night initiative.

As a member of the CCOT team you will be providing education and clinical support to the staff in the clinical areas. The post holder will deliver evidence based care and demonstrate an enthusiasm for the specialty and a willingness to accept and initiate change. 

Skills & Experience:

  • Registered General Nurse with NMC pin.
  • Neuro, Cardiac or General ITU/HDU specific skills and experience.
  • Motivated and forward thinking individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with good time management and prioritisation skills.
  • 3 years critical/acute care experience.
  • Critical Care Course (60 Credits)
