Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen for qualified Band 5 paediatric nurses to join our team on Squirrel Endo/Met Ward. We are looking for nurses who are enthusiastic and well-motivated as we seek to deliver high quality care to children and young people.

Good time management and decision making skills are essential along with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team, rotating day and night shifts. The unit encourages staff to develop their leadership skills and clinical knowledge as well as promoting individual development.

Squirrel Endo/Met Ward is a busy area with 8 beds, specialising in endocrinology and metabolic medicine. The patients are often very high dependent, requiring frequent blood sampling and complex intravenous infusions. We care for a mixture of long and short stay patients. We care for a diverse age range of patients from newborn to 18 years, but the main age group would be neonates to toddlers.

Company

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) has a worldwide reputation for the care of children. We employ more than 4,000 staff, who deal with over 268,000 patient visits each year.

Many of the children and young people we see have been referred to GOSH because they need specialist care that their local hospital cannot provide.

Our employees have the skills to provide a safe, effective and world-class service. We also prepare our staff for future roles by giving them the expertise they need to pursue a successful career at GOSH or across the NHS.
