CU Scarborough has been established by Coventry University Group as a new campus in North Yorkshire to provide high quality, student centric, career focused higher education on the Yorkshire Coast. CU Scarborough works in close collaboration with a number of partners including a range of employers. It operates through one of Coventry University’s wholly owned subsidiaries (Coventry University Group Ltd.) and is supported by the wider group infrastructure. Our new purpose built facilities opened in September 2016 located at the heart of Scarborough’s brand new circa £50 million education and sports campus.
This role is an exciting opportunity to join the expanding Nursing teaching team recruited to teach our Adult, Mental Health and Learning Disability Nursing cohorts. Our provision now includes Apprenticeship and Pre-registration programmes, including online delivery. In this role you will provide high quality learning, teaching and curriculum development in nursing and related programme areas. You will be a registered nurse, an excellent communicator and will be able to support and motivate students from a wide range of backgrounds. Demonstrating sound pedagogic practice and creativity you will use a wide range of approaches and learning resources to ensure that students engage fully in their learning experience, motivating good attendance, retention, achievement and progression.
Confident in delivery of a broad curriculum at lower stages and bringing specialist knowledge for areas of more advanced study, you will be able to work across a range of levels up to honours degree and in the future may also contribute to postgraduate provision.
Ensuring that your teaching is informed by contemporary practice is essential and you will need to maintain your own continuous professional development and subject-related scholarship. Passion for your subject will be clearly evident and experience of successful professional networking and active membership of a relevant professional body will be an advantage. You will be keen to work as part of a high performing team to promote the programmes within your subject domain, contributing to student recruitment targets and helping to build a strong reputation for your subject at CU Scarborough. We particularly welcome applications from those with experience in mental health and learning disabilities nursing as well as those with adult nursing experience.
