Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's Hospital - Senior Staff Nurse - Evergreen

Nuffield Health is Britain's largest not-for-profit healthcare organisation. Our family of 31 award winning hospitals, 112 fitness and wellbeing clubs, healthcare clinics and over 160 onsite workplace wellbeing services are united in our purpose to build a healthier nation.

We have several exciting opportunities for senior staff nurses to join our team in opening a brand-new hospital in London, Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's Hospital, opening in the autumn of 2021. At Nuffield health we are committed to providing our patients the highest standards of care, and we want you to be the best you can be, so you can deliver the best care possible, by providing you with development opportunities, and a unique wellbeing offering.

We are looking for an array of senior staff nurses with different skill sets from outpatients, oncology and endoscopy to the inpatient surgical ward and cardiology/ cardiac surgery ward who will lead the delivery of high quality patient care.

In autumn 2021, we'll open the doors to Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's Hospital: The City of London's only independent hospital, situated next to St Bartholomew's NHS hospital. This will be our flagship centre for cardiac services and will also provide a full range of surgical and medical services, including: orthopaedics, oncology, general surgery, gynaecology and urology services.

The new hospital will consist of:

  • 48 inpatient and day case bedrooms

  • 28 consultation rooms

  • Three digital operating theatres

  • Cardiac catheterisation lab

  • Specialist intensive care beds

  • Oncology day unit

  • Endoscopy and minor ops theatre

  • Full diagnostic imaging suite including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and general X-ray

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and you will be able to provide clinical leadership, act as a mentor and role model, manage complex patient care, and lead the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse. You will support individuals and teams to deliver safe, high quality and effective patient care that is responsive to the needs of our patients and their families. Along the way, you'll build strong relationships with consultants, hospital senior leaders, a wide range of healthcare professionals and, of course, patients.

You will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and you will have experience in the field of cardiac, oncology, general surgery or orthopaedics. You will have experience leading a unit in the absence of the Charge Nurse. Offering full time, part time and bank positions, applicants will be willing to work flexibly across different shift patterns covering a seven-day service.

Be your best and join us in building a healthier nation. We promise to support you with training, career development and our unique lifestyle and financial wellbeing benefits package. This includes free membership of your local Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Club, an annual health assessment, as well as a range of lifestyle and financial wellbeing benefits.
